So its been 3 weeks and it has taken me that long to get on here and put up some pics. Partly because our internet provider has been less that helpful and we have been using the wireless of our neighbour. Such kind people....
Ok , so the drive here wasnt too bad. The kids lost the plot at about hours 8 out, and not even the back of the car seat movies could help us anymore. Here are a few pics of the drive....there was lots of road kill but decided not to post that! ewwwww -
And here are a few pics of Charleville, the local IGA, Police station (work) the Qantas flight Brisbane to Charleville (for all my family taking a flight thats the size aircraft that travels here) and on my morning walks, we came accross a dog and a sheep - the dog was having a rest and the sheep was very protective and was sure to stay close to the dog. Very cute - we didnt know where it came from until the owners in a Commodore came and put them both in the back seat and drove off - cant remember the last time I had a sheep in my back seat of the car - only in the country!

mmmm wild pig hunting anyone? Here are a few pics of the house, for those who have been asking - and the new Christmas Tree of course - on special at Crazy Clarks for $45 - woohooo - much better than our old one, and buster on his new bed...not one of the couches we use to sit on.
and now some pics of the Rock Pools, and the kids throwing rocks into the water, Crab pots, and lots of red dirt!
Well thats all for now, as you all know, everywhere in the south qld has been really hot the last 2 weeks and we are no exception! Heat everywhere and its forced me to get over the fact that the aircon has to be on 24/7 its not worth everyone feeling yucky and cranky and not being able to sleep, i mean after all - its been high 30's and even reached 43 last week - not looking forward to the bill though.
Now that all those pics are up, I can keep up to date right? lol
We all know how hopeless I am on this thing. Love you and miss you! You know who you are!
xxoo

Absolutely love the sheep in the back of the car story, just somethin that doesn't go on around here lol! And the pigs...blah!
Miss you lots, big hug!
GROSS WILD PIGS!!!!!!!!!!!! That poor dog it looked kind of dead, luckily he had his sheep friend to look after him. The house looks really nice! Just tried to call you, I left a message.... :P....
talk soon
love you
courts!!!!
cool pics... dont worry about the aircon
a family in our ward who are from darwin are moving back and i was like how can you stand the heat!! He was like really it is just like living in melbourne or anywhere really.. we stay inside all summer (like they do winter) and we do all our outdoor stuff all winter.. so think of your lack of heating bill in winter i suppose :)
i wish! apparently i have been told anyway - that you have to use heating in winter - all the houses are made to be cool - and caues its the desert, and it get down to 0...the dogs water bowls can freeze over - so heating will have to be on too - boooohhh
That is so cool, love the sheep story and want to have those pigs for dinner :) Your home looks great very nice and your furniture seems to fit right in :) Love and miss you
What a hilarious post Peta! It was great to hear your voice on the video and your commentary was so funny. Your house looks great - you are so organised and set up already. I look forward to hearing about your adventures. All the best for a happy Christmas.
That's so awesome Peta! Just as I imagined it would look out there...is there a school out there? or are you gonna homeschool? Wow such an experience..Andrew would move out to the country in a heartbeat I however would think I would get cabin fever and go crazy after a while I think?!? haha
I guess you would find new things to keep you busy and life exciting! I think country life would be so great for kids...I bet they will love experiencing all the new things :)
Good luck settling in
xoxo
thanks for your comment Cindy - yep 2 schools here - a public and a private. The kids are going to the private school, as i hear coppas kids can get teased/bullied by some of the kids in the public school who have had run ins with the police taking their parents away. So I didnt want to risk that. There are a few shops and electrical stores which is good. Hasnt been to bad, we have been going to the pool every day so hopefully the kids will learn to swim soon. Its been good and we are enjoying it. With other police wives that want to get out for dinner, bbqs and desert etc I havent found I am too crazy yet. But then again I dont mind being on my own....anti social? sometimes :D lol
ps i could never home school, no where near patient enough. But they have long distance education for the kids furter out - through the computer. Thats cool I think.
